We have been investigating this problem and for many players issue got fixed if they made sure they were online on Steam.
We recommend restarting the game and reloading the world after making sure you are online on Steam.
An internet connection is required for some features to work properly, for example:
- Elevator buttons
- Tangaroa crane buttons
- Temperance telescope buttons
To get past these parts and continue with the game an internet connection, if only temporary, is necessary.
